Principal

                   Bob Shamberg

Welcome to a new school year at Borah. Each year brings the promise of gaining new academic skills and knowledge, building friendships and participating in the many enriching activities that come with our fine neighborhood school. This is my fourth year at Borah. I have enjoyed getting to know all the families that make Borah such an outstanding environment for learning and life.

I have been an educator for 30 years. Prior to being a principal, I taught grades 3, 4, 5 & 6 as well as math to 7th & 8th graders. Before coming to Borah I served as the principal at Sorensen Elementary for 10 years. I consider myself fortunate to have been with the Coeur d'Alene School District for the past 27 years.

In 1998, I was honored by The North Idaho Association of Educational Office Personnel as Administrator of the Year. I graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1976 with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, completed a Masters in Elementary Administration 1984, and graduated from IASA's Project Leadership Academy 1998. In addition to helping with a variety of school district committee work, I directed the Summer School Program in 1991&1992 and have helped coordinate the annual Martin Luther King Human Rights Celebration for 5th graders since 1999.

I am assisted in the office by our invaluable secretaries: Office Manager Jaye Smith and Secretary Carol Travis. They brighten up our office and are always ready to help parents, students and staff. I am fortunate to work with such a talented and caring staff.

It looks like another great learning adventure ahead!
