Parent Online Resources

We at Borah know that raising children is not an easy task. At some point in our kids' lives we all have needed help.  Below is a list of resources, helpful hints and some online sites with parent information. We hope these resources will prove helpful in the never-ending job of bringing up kids. If you know of a good resource and would like to pass it on to others, please e-mail the web editor and we will include the source.

Clothing Closet

The First Presbyterian Church is giving away free clothing to needy families. The Clothing Closet is open all year on Wednesdays from 11:30-2:00 and 3:00-4:00. The Closet is located at 521 Lakeside Ave.  For more information call 667-8446. They have winter clothing, boots, coats, gloves and hats of all sizes.

Parents As Teachers

Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a Free Voluntary program offered by the Coeur d'Alene School District 271.  It is an early childhood parent education and family support program. PAT is designed to enhance child development and school achievement through parent education during the early learning years. PAT serves families from the time of pregnancy until their child/children enters kindergarten. For information on how you can enroll your family contact either Borah's office or call 769-2013

 

Even Start Family Literacy Program

Children's early learning is greatly influenced by their parents. Parents with strong literacy skills can better support their children's educational development. The Even Start Family Literacy Program is committed to helping families succeed. Parents who need their GED or want to improve their job skills, and have a child under 8 years old may qualify for Even Start. Even Start offers parenting classes and Early Children Education for children birth to 8 years old. Even Start is located in the Harding Family Center, 411 N 15th St., Cd'A. For more information call 666-6761.

Borah Elementary Web Site Safeguards:

  • Information that is private in nature or that can reasonably be considered private will not be posted on our school web site.

  • Children and staff will never reveal their personal details, home addresses and telephone numbers on the web.

  • Parent and student permission is required to publish any student pictures or work.

  • Any images of children will not be labeled with their names.

  • Questionable material will not be allowed on web pages or immediate links (monitored by staff, web editor or principal).  If you find any questionable material please e-mail the web editor so they can be removed.
