All Borah elementary students, K-5, benefit from weekly lessons with the Art Specialist.  

Art skills and knowledge, as provided for in our curriculum, are taught through projects which include practical application in a life long way and through integration with other content subjects.  

Some of the upcoming projects and events include student created Christmas gifts, 5th grade field trip to MAC (Museums of Arts & Culture) in Spokane to view the Young America Treasures from the Smithsonian American Art Museum exhibit and drawing lessons developed around literature and content subjects.

The visual art curriculum provides each student with a discipline based art education which includes:

• Creative Expression - Students will develop and expand their visual arts knowledge and skills in order to express ideas imaginatively.  Drawing skills are emphasized using the Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain frameworks.
