Reading Everywhere
Reading Everyday

Title I is a Federal funded program designed to work with children that need an extra boost with their reading, writing and phonics skills. Funding for our program is based on the percentage of free and reduced lunches that our families apply for. Therefore, it is ESSENTIAL that our families apply for free and reduced lunch at our school. Forms may be picked up at the office or in the cafeteria. Even if our families choose not to participate in this program, their application goes towards our funding.

WHO ARE TITLE I STUDENTS?

Children who score below grade level on the Idaho Reading Indicator and the Idaho Student Achievement Test and are referred by the classroom teacher. Once these children are identified, the students are instructed in small groups according to their needs and strengths in reading, phonics and writing skills.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT

Parent involvement is very important both at home and at school. Successful reading habits need to come from home and school as a team effort. The Title team is here to support families with questions and concerns regarding reading and writing. Come in and see us to set up an appointment.

PROGRESS REPORTS

The Title I staff sends home progress reports with the regularly scheduled report cards and are happy to be involved in scheduled conference times with the classroom teacher. We are involved in team decisions through our regularly scheduled SAT (student assistance team) meetings to best meet the needs of our students.
