"Snow Day" Closure Information

It is the responsibility of the Transportation Director to advise the Superintendent if the weather or road conditions warrant the closing of school in District 271.  If the decision is made to cancel school that day, a phone tree is in place to notify radio and television stations, as well as school principals and directors. Parents are asked to listen to area radio and television stations after 6 a.m. for school closure information, or call the Transportation Hotline at 667-0784 for recorded information. 
 

District personnel have arrangements with the following stations to notify them of school closures: KVNI 1080AM, KXLY 4 television, KHQ 6 televison, KREM TV2, KPND 95.3/K102FM, Blue Sky, KXLY 99.9FM, KDRK/KGA, KPBX, KZZU 92.9 FM, KAYU-TV3.
