Hello, my
name is Scott Freeby. As the principal of Atlas Elementary, my goal is to work
with the Atlas Community in providing quality education, setting high
expectations, and creating a caring community for all students.
My background includes twenty five years of professional experience in the field
of education, working as a teacher and administrator with students, parents,
staff, and community groups in Southwest Idaho. I have an undergraduate degree
in elementary education from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. My
Masters is in Educational Administration
from Albertson College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho. For the past fifteen years,
I was the elementary principal at Homedale Elementary in Homedale, Idaho. Prior
to that, I taught grades three, four, five, and six in three different school
districts in the Treasure Valley. All of these experiences have provided me
with skills and a knowledge base that allow me to offer quality administrative
leadership.
I am excited to be a part of the staff and parent community that make Atlas
Elementary such a great place for kids. Our staff is student-centered, caring,
and motivated toward the success of all students. Our parents are very
supportive and actively help out with many activities throughout the school.
The students are why we are here. They not only excel academically, but are
also learning about respect, ethical values, and social skills, which we at
Atlas Elementary School consider to be equally important. We strive to create an
environment where students feel safe, comfortable, and respected.
I welcome you to visit our school and/or to call or email me at anytime with
comments, concerns, and suggestions. |
As the
new Vice Principal at Atlas Elementary, I look forward to working with the staff
and students in our school and getting to know the families. I believe that
working together and communicating regularly will enable us to provide the best
educational experience for your child. This year we will be focusing on
providing a creative, rewarding, and challenging educational experience for all
of our students. We will also focus on developing life-long learners and
positive character traits that will continue to serve the children for a
lifetime of success.
I come to Atlas after teaching math and science at the middle school level for
the past thirteen years in School District 271. I earned my bachelor’s degree
from the University of Northern Colorado and my master’s degree in educational
administration from the University of Idaho and look forward to the new
challenges my new position will be sure to bring my way.
Please feel free to contact me at anytime with your concerns. We value your
role as parents and I feel honored to be entrusted with your most precious gifts
- - your children.
